On Sept. 3 Cazenovia Area Community Development Association presented “Farm and Fork, An Evening with Beezie and John Madden.”  The beautiful late summer weather provided a perfect backdrop for this special event that was held at the Madden’s farm in Nelson.
The evening began with a tour of the barn and a chance to meet its most famous award-winning resident, Authentic.  In keeping with the theme, “A Celebration of Local Agriculture”, guests then enjoyed a delicious meal that included many

ingredients contributed by local farmers and food producers.  Music, a silent auction, abundant desserts, and a full moon helped to create a truly exceptional time for everyone who attended.
“I was pleased to represent CACDA and the work they do for our community”, said Dave Lucas, President of the CACDA Board of Directors.  “The unique setting and the incorporation of local products really reinforces the importance of nurturing our existing community resources.”

Bob and Bobbie Constable, long-time residents of the area and strong CACDA supporters, thoroughly enjoyed the event.  “We had a wonderful time and were so impressed with the whole experience.  Everyone who participated loved it!”
“We especially want to thank our generous and gracious hosts, Beezie and John Madden, for opening their home and stables for our event,” said Barbara Henderson, Executive Director. “CACDA has worked hard for the past four years, with various partners, to help preserve more than 600 acres of land for agriculture. The Madden farm is an excellent venue to showcase how critical the agricultural industry is to Central New York’s economy.”
